Daily Success with theCut: A Barber's Workflow Guide

A day-structured routine (start of day, during appointments, before a client leaves, end of day) for managing Calendar, checkout, notes, and reviews.

Simple Habits to Keep Your Business Organized and Your Clients Coming Back

A successful day behind the chair isn't just about the appointments on your schedule. Staying on top of your bookings, payments, client information, and availability can make your day run smoother and create a better experience for your clients.

Use this guide as a simple daily routine for managing your business with theCut.

Start Your Day

Check Your Calendar

Before your first appointment, open your Calendar and review what's ahead.

Take a look at:

  • Today's appointments

  • Pending Booking Requests

  • Appointment times and services

  • Client information

  • Any open or blocked time on your schedule

If you have Booking Requests waiting for your attention, review those too so clients aren't left wondering whether their appointment is confirmed.

💡 Tip: Use the Today button on your Calendar to quickly return to the current day's schedule.

Look for Opportunities to Fill Your Schedule

Have an unexpected opening or a slower day?

Use the time to let clients know you're available.

You can:

  • Share your booking link on social media

  • Promote a last-minute opening

  • Use Client Blast to reach your client list

  • Open additional availability on your Calendar

  • Invite existing clients who aren't connected with you on theCut yet

📈 Business Tip: Opening availability doesn't automatically mean clients will know it's there. If you're trying to fill an opening, tell people about it.

During Each Appointment

Keep Your Calendar Accurate

As your day changes, keep your Calendar updated.

If you accept an appointment outside of theCut, add it to your Calendar so that time isn't accidentally booked by someone else.

If you become unavailable, Block the timeframe.

If you decide to accept additional appointments, Open the timeframe.

Complete Checkout While Your Client Is Still With You

When the service is finished, complete the appointment and checkout process while your client is still there.

This gives you an opportunity to confirm that the transaction was successfully completed and address any payment issues before the client leaves.

⚠️ Important: Don't assume a payment is complete until you've reached the successful confirmation screen.

If something doesn't look right, verify the transaction before attempting to charge the client again.

Before Your Client Leaves

The end of an appointment is a great time to build the relationship beyond today's service.

Encourage Their Next Booking

If your client plans to come back, encourage them to schedule their next appointment through theCut.

Building a consistent rebooking habit makes it easier for clients to stay on your schedule.

Encourage an Honest Review

After a completed appointment, clients have an opportunity to share feedback about their experience.

If they had a great visit, let them know you'd appreciate an honest review.

Reviews help future clients learn more about the experience you provide and can strengthen your reputation on theCut.

Update Your Client Notes

If there's something worth remembering for next time, add it to the client's notes while it's still fresh.

That might include:

  • Preferred cut or style

  • Guard or length preferences

  • Product preferences

  • Service preferences

  • Other useful details for their next visit

Small details can make a returning client feel remembered.

Keep Your Work Fresh

Had a cut you're especially proud of?

Add a clear, high-quality photo to your profile.

Regularly updating your work helps potential clients see your current skill and style when they're deciding whether to book.

💡 Tip: Don't upload everything. Choose the work that best represents the services and styles you want more clients to book.

End Your Day

Before you're done for the day, take a few minutes to make sure everything is in order.

Review Your Appointments

Check that today's appointments have the correct status and that anything requiring your attention has been handled.

Review Your Transactions

Make sure completed payments look correct and investigate anything that doesn't.

Look Ahead

Take a quick look at tomorrow's schedule.

Check for:

  • Pending Booking Requests

  • Schedule gaps

  • Incorrect availability

  • Time you need to block

  • Opportunities to promote an opening

A few minutes today can prevent surprises tomorrow morning.

Build a Daily Routine

You don't need to spend all day managing the app.

A few consistent habits can keep your business organized:

Morning: Check your schedule and Booking Requests.

Throughout the day: Keep your Calendar accurate and complete appointments as they happen.

After each appointment: Checkout, encourage rebooking and reviews, and save useful client notes.

During downtime: Promote openings, invite clients, or update your profile.

Before you're done: Review today's activity and look ahead at tomorrow.

The goal isn't to create more work. It's to make the work you're already doing easier to manage.
