Can clients Reschedule appointments?

Clients can now reschedule appointments directly from their Appointment Details page, choosing a new time slot with ease. Barbers, continue managing changes by canceling and rebooking if needed.

📝 Description: How client-initiated rescheduling works and how it affects the Cancellation & No-Show Policy depending on who reschedules.

Client-Initiated Rescheduling: What Barbers Should Know

Clients Can Now Reschedule Their Own Appointments

Clients can now move an existing appointment to another available time without needing you to cancel the appointment and book it again for them.

This gives clients more flexibility while reducing the back-and-forth required when their schedule changes.

Here's what you need to know when a client reschedules.

How Client Rescheduling Works

From their Appointment Details, a client can:

  1. Tap Reschedule.

  2. View available times for the same service.

  3. Choose a new appointment time.

  4. Review the change.

  5. Tap Reschedule again to confirm.

The client can only choose from times that are available on your schedule.

💡 Tip: Keeping your availability accurate is especially important now. If a time is open for booking, it may also be available for an existing client to select when rescheduling.

What Happens When a Client Reschedules?

Once the client confirms their new time, their appointment is updated to reflect the rescheduled date and time.

You don't need to manually cancel the original appointment and create another one for the client.

Check the updated Appointment Details to review the new appointment information.

Do I Need to Approve the New Time?

Because clients choose from your available appointment times, make sure your Calendar accurately reflects when you're able to work.

Your preset options are honored and can either Auto Confirm or require Manual Confirmation.

Use your Calendar to:

  • Block time when you're unavailable.

  • Open additional time when you want to accept appointments.

  • Add appointments booked outside theCut.

  • Keep your regular business availability current.

This helps prevent clients from selecting a time you didn't intend to make available.

What Happens to My Cancellation & No-Show Policy?

Your Cancellation & No-Show Policy still applies after a reschedule — what happens depends on who makes the change.

If the Client Reschedules Within Your Policy Window

If a client reschedules within your Cancellation & No-Show Policy window, they're prompted to create a new appointment for the new time. The original appointment remains on your Calendar and is still subject to your cancellation or no-show fee if it's later cancelled or the client doesn't show.

If You Reschedule the Appointment

If you reschedule the appointment yourself, your Cancellation & No-Show Policy is voided for that appointment. Since the client may not have been able to work with the new time you selected, it wouldn't be fair to hold them to the original policy.

What If the New Time Doesn't Work for Me?

Clients should only be able to select from times you've made available.

If something has changed and you're no longer available for the newly selected time, communicate with the client as soon as possible and update your Calendar so the unavailable time isn't offered to other clients.

💡 Tip: If your schedule changes during the day, update your availability when it happens rather than waiting until later.

What If the Client Can't Reschedule?

There may be situations where the client's desired time isn't available through the Reschedule option.

If they contact you about another time, you can communicate directly and determine the best next step for the appointment.

Don't cancel or recreate an appointment unnecessarily if the client can complete the change through Reschedule.

Keep Your Calendar Ready for Rescheduling

Client-initiated rescheduling makes appointment changes easier, but it also makes accurate availability more important.

A few good habits can help:

  • Keep your business hours current.

  • Block unavailable time as soon as you know you need it.

  • Add appointments booked outside theCut to your Calendar.

  • Review schedule changes throughout the day.

  • Check updated Appointment Details when a client reschedules.

The more accurately your Calendar reflects your real availability, the easier it is for clients to move appointments without creating scheduling conflicts.
