Keep Your Business, Payment, and Tax Information Up to Date
If you operate your barbering business under a registered business, you can update your Mobile Pay business information to reflect your business structure and tax details.
Many barbers initially set up Mobile Pay as an individual and update their information later as their business grows. You can make those changes through your Payment Processing Hub.
Why Update Your Business Information?
Keeping your information accurate helps ensure your Mobile Pay account reflects how your business is actually structured.
Updating your information can help with:
Payment account verification
Keeping your tax information accurate
Making sure your business details are current
Keeping your payment processing information consistent with your registered business
💡 Good to Know: You don't have to start Mobile Pay as a business. If you originally registered as an individual, you can update your information later.
Update Your Business Information
How to Get Started
Open Settings.
Tap Payments.
Select Business & Personal.
Tap Edit in the top-right corner.
When the verification page opens, find Business Type and tap Edit.
Select Company and choose the business structure that applies to you.
Depending on your business, available options may include structures such as Single Member LLC or Sole Proprietorship.
⚠️ Important: Choose the business structure that accurately reflects how your business is registered. Don't select a business type simply because it appears as an available option.
Complete Your Information Through Stripe
After you begin editing your business information, you'll continue through Stripe's secure verification experience.
Stripe is theCut's payment processor, so these screens will look different from the rest of theCut app.
From here:
Review your business information.
Enter or update your business name.
Enter or update your EIN.
Complete any additional information requested.
Review everything for accuracy.
Tap Save.
💡 Tip: Because this part of the process is managed through Stripe, don't worry if the design suddenly looks different. You're still completing the Mobile Pay verification process.
What You'll Need
Depending on the information being verified, you may need documentation confirming your business and tax information.
Have the following available when applicable:
Your EIN (Employer Identification Number)
Your SS-4 Letter from the IRS
Providing information that matches your official business records can help prevent verification delays.
What If I Don't Have an EIN Yet?
You can still set up Mobile Pay as an individual and update your business information later.
Once your business is established and you've received your EIN, return to Settings → Payments → Business & Personal to update your information.
💡 Tip: Don't enter temporary or inaccurate business information while you're waiting for an EIN. It's better to keep your account information accurate and update it once your official business information is available.
Verification Timeline
After your updated information is submitted, verification typically takes 1–3 business days.
You'll receive confirmation once your updated business information has been approved.
Additional information or documentation may be requested if something can't be verified from the information submitted.
