How to Switch Between Barber and Client Profiles

How to add and switch between a Barber and Client profile on the same theCut account, and what to do if you run into trouble switching.

Use Barber and Client Profiles on the Same Account

You can have more than one profile type connected to your theCut account.

For example, if you use theCut as a barber but also book appointments with other barbers, you can create a Client Profile without needing a separate account.

Once you've created multiple profiles, you can easily switch between them from Settings.

Add Another Profile Type

How to Create a New Profile

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap the profile switcher at the top-center of the screen.

  3. Select Create New Profile.

  4. Choose the profile type you'd like to create.

  5. Follow the prompts to finish setting up your new profile.

Your profiles will remain connected to the same theCut account.

Switch Between Your Profiles

Once you have more than one profile:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap the profile switcher at the top-center of the screen.

  3. Select the profile you'd like to use.

You can return to your other profile using the same steps.

💡 Tip: If something in the app looks unfamiliar, check which profile you're currently using. Barber and Client profiles have different tools and experiences.

Why Create a Client Profile as a Barber?

Having a Client Profile lets you use theCut as a client without affecting your Barber Profile.

You can also see the booking experience from your clients' perspective, including how barbers appear in Search and what the booking experience looks like.

This can be useful when you're working on your own profile and thinking about how potential clients experience your business.

Update Information Across Your Account

Some account information is managed through Manage Account rather than through an individual profile.

If you need to update your account information:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap Manage Account.

  3. Make the necessary changes.

Updates made to shared account information will apply across your connected profile types.

Good to Know

If Your Barber Profile Is Connected to a Shop

If your Barber Profile is connected to a Shop Owner's shop, some business information may be managed through the shop.

If you need independent control of information currently managed by the shop, the Shop Owner may need to remove your Barber Profile from their shop first.

Contact our Support team so we can help with the options available to you.

Multiple Profiles vs. Multiple Barber Locations

Creating a Client Profile alongside your Barber Profile is different from managing multiple barber locations or barber profiles.

If you're trying to manage multiple locations or need an additional Barber Profile, contact our Support team so we can help with the options available to you.

Having Trouble Switching Profiles?

If you don't see the profile you're looking for:

  • Make sure you're using the profile switcher from Settings.

  • Close and reopen theCut app.

  • Check that you're using the latest version of the app.

  • Confirm that you completed the setup for the additional profile.

If your Barber Profile is connected to a shop and the issue involves shop ownership or profile management, contact the Shop Owner or our Support team for additional help.
