💸 Payment Options for Clients
Depending on the barber, here’s what you might see available:
Mobile Pay (in-app card payment)
Tap to Pay (just tap your card/phone at the chair)
Cash App, Apple Pay, Google Pay
Cash (Reach out to your barber to confirm!)
✅ Pro Tip: Even if a Mobile Pay appointment is required to book, your barber may still accept cash or other methods at the appointment. Just message them in the app to ask! Barbers have the ability to set their payment preferences in the app, which can affect the options available to clients. For example, some barbers may enable both Mobile Pay and In-Shop payment methods, while others may prefer specific options like cash-only payments.
If the Mobile Pay option isn't visible, it means your barber has not enabled card payments. You can message your barber through the app to request that they enable this feature.
🔐 Preauthorization for Mobile Pay
If you’re booking with a card through Mobile Pay, we’ll place a preauthorization hold — not a full charge.
Here’s how it works:
A preauthorization is a temporary hold on your account for the full appointment amount.
These funds are not withdrawn immediately — just reserved.
After the appointment is completed, the final charge is processed.
Any remaining amount is released right back to your account!
💡 Think of it like reserving a table — the money stays in your account until the service is complete.
⚙️ Managing Your Payment Method
Add or update your card anytime:
Go to Settings > Payment Method in your client profile.
To remove a saved card, just swipe left or right on the entry! For subscriptions, follow these steps to update your payment method:
Open theCut app and log into your account.
Navigate to Settings.
Access the Subscription Portal.
Add or update your card details directly through the portal to ensure uninterrupted service. Make sure that your card details are always current to avoid any disruptions in your subscriptions or appointments.
