Before You Begin
You'll need:
Your theCut Profile Link
Your NFC keychain or chair sticker
The NFC Tools app
An NFC-compatible phone
💡 Tip: Set up and test your chair sticker before attaching it to your chair. Once you've confirmed everything works, you can decide exactly where you want it.
Get Your theCut Profile Link
Your NFC tools need your public Profile Link so they know where to send clients when they tap.
Open theCut.
Go to Settings.
Tap Edit Profile Link.
Tap your Profile Link to copy it.
Your Profile Link takes clients directly to your public theCut profile.
Download NFC Tools
You'll use the free NFC Tools app to program your keychain and chair sticker.
Once it's installed, you're ready to program your first NFC item.
Add Your theCut Profile Link
Open NFC Tools, then:
Tap Write.
Tap Add a record.
Select URL / URI.
Paste your theCut Profile Link.
Tap Check Mark.
Tap the back button.
Tap Write/ 14 Bytes.
Your phone is now ready to write your Profile Link to the NFC item.
Program Your NFC Keychain
After tapping Write, hold your NFC keychain near your phone's NFC reader.
On most phones, the NFC reader is near the top/back of the device.
Keep the keychain still until NFC Tools confirms the write was successful.
Once you see the confirmation, your keychain is programmed.
Program Your NFC Chair Sticker
You'll use the same process for your chair sticker.
In NFC Tools, add your theCut Profile Link as a URL / URI.
Tap Write/ 14 Bytes.
Hold the NFC chair sticker near your phone's NFC reader.
Keep it still until you receive confirmation that the write was successful.
⚠️ Don't attach the sticker to your chair yet. Test it first.
Test Your Tap-to-Book Tools
Once you've programmed both items, close NFC Tools.
Test each one separately:
Tap your phone to the NFC keychain.
Tap your phone to the NFC chair sticker.
Your theCut profile should open when the NFC tag is recognized.
If both work, you're ready to put them to use.
💡 Tip: Test them again with another compatible phone if you have one available. You're setting these up for your clients, so it's worth making sure the experience works outside your own device too.
Where to Put Your Chair Sticker
Once you've confirmed the sticker works, place it somewhere clients can easily reach with their phone.
Your chair is a great spot because you can make tapping part of your checkout routine:
Finish the appointment → Rebook → Ask for a review → Tap to save your booking profile.
The goal is simple: make it ridiculously easy for a client who's already sitting in your chair to find and book with you again.
Good to Know
Your keychain and chair sticker can both point to the same theCut Profile Link.
You only need to program each NFC item once unless you want to change the link stored on it.
Test your NFC items before putting them into regular use.
NFC reader placement varies by phone, so clients may need to move their device slightly to find the reader.
Your NFC item doesn't replace your Profile Link or QR Code. It's simply another way to get clients to the same profile.
Make Tap-to-Book Part of Your Routine
Your Tap-to-Book tools work best when clients actually know they're there.
NFC Keychain: Keep your booking link with you when you're away from your station.
NFC Chair Sticker: Give clients an easy way to pull up your profile before they leave your chair.
A simple “Tap here to book your next one” is all it takes.
