Understanding Availability Gauges in Search
When clients search for a barber on theCut, they can quickly get an idea of when each barber has availability before opening their full profile.
That's where Availability Gauges come in.
These visual indicators appear with your information in Search and give clients a quick snapshot of your upcoming availability, making it easier for them to find a barber whose schedule works for them.
How Availability Gauges Work
Availability Gauges show clients a visual representation of your availability for today and the next six days.
Rather than opening your profile and checking each individual day, clients can use the gauges to quickly see which days may have more—or less—availability.
The amount shown in the gauge represents how much availability you have for that day.
What the Gauge Shows | What It Means |
Full or mostly full | You have a larger amount of availability that day. |
Partially full | You have some availability, but fewer openings remain. |
Little or no availability | Your schedule has limited or no availability remaining for that day. |
💡 Important: The gauges give clients a quick visual snapshot of your availability. They'll still need to view your available times and select an appointment time when booking.
What Clients See in Search
When a client searches for a barber, your Availability Gauges help them quickly compare upcoming availability without having to check every barber's calendar individually.
For example, a client looking for a cut today may notice that you have more availability than another barber and decide to check your available times.
A client planning for later in the week can also use the gauges to identify which days may give them the most options.
This makes your availability an important part of how clients experience your profile in Search.
📅 Your Calendar Matters
Your Availability Gauges are another reason to keep your Calendar and availability accurate.
If you aren't available to work, make sure that time is blocked. If you decide to work additional hours, make sure your available time is open.
Keeping your schedule accurate helps clients see a better representation of when you're actually available and prevents them from expecting appointment options during times you don't plan to work.
💡 Tip: Plans change. When your schedule changes, update your Calendar too. Keeping your availability current makes it easier for clients searching for a barber to find openings that actually work.
Business Tip: Clients searching for a barber may be comparing more than portfolios and reviews. Availability matters too. Keeping your schedule updated can make it easier for a client who's ready to book to see that you have time that works for them.
